Trey’s Story

To the HALO-Flight Staff,

This letter was written from our hearts to the awesome team at HALO-Flight that were without a doubt angels sent from heaven to save our son Joseph Trey Cuddihy’s life in Cuero, Tx.

Our son Trey is 10 years old, he’s in the 5th grade and a very bright boy. He is a caring and sensitive child who has a heart the size of Texas. He is our youngest of four. He is without doubt his daddy’s little buddy and best friend. I, as his mother, am so proud to have him as my little man, my pride and joy. Our family was completed when we were blessed with his birth. More…

HALO-Flight saved my son’s life.

My son Dylan was in a severe car crash in Rockport, TX. Dylan was riding with his grandmother when they were making a left turn on Hwy. 35 and were broadsided by a one ton truck. The truck struck the passenger side door, which was where my 7 year old son was sitting.

My son suffered a severe compressed skull fracture from the accident and it was doubtful if he would live. His blood pressure had dropped dramatically and he was in extremely critical condition. His grandmother also suffered injuries, but not as severe as my son. Her injuries were not life threatening. More…

HALO-Flight was directly introduced to me in a very abrupt way during Father’s Day of 2000. My wife, daughter, and I were headed home after lunch after attending a church service, when we were in a terrible car accident outside of Kingsville, Texas. I don’t remember much of the scene, but I do know that without HALO-Flight’s quick response and their ability to fly me directly into a trauma care facility, that I would very possibly not be here today. Victoria Gonzalez: My Dad was in a horrible accident one morning. Somehow lost control and his work van flipped, I want to say they said 5-6 times. He did have his seatbelt on but somehow the seat beat came undone and he was thrown many feet from the van. I remember meeting the dad and son who pulled over to help my dad (cover him in blankets) until the ambulance got there. He died in the man’s arms but my dad wasn’t done fighting. The crew from HALO-Flight brought him back to life multiple times! More…

HALO-Flight: My lifeline

The next time you are driving on a straight two-laner at 55mph, imagine an SUV coming the other way at 80mph. Now imagine the SUV swerving into your lane and hitting you head-on, with a combined speed of 135mph. Now imagine that you don’t have the protection of a car around you, but you are on a motorcycle.

What are your chances of survival? More…

Chip Hogan

Chip Hogan On October 2, 2011, I had just sat down in my den to watch the Dallas Cowboy football game when a I got a sudden terrible headache. I sat up to the edge of my chair to go to the kitchen and get some aspirin and I could not move any farther. After my son-in-law attempted to help me stand, I fell to the floor and discovered that I was paralyzed on the left side of my body. Ambulance called, I was transported to Spohn Memorial Shoreline. The Drs. discovered that I was suffering from an AVM, ( Ateriovenous malformation cerebral ), on the right front lobe of my brain that had ruptured and was bleeding. More…
