Outreach Education - A non-profit helicopter emergency medical service for south Texas.

HALO-Flight is just one link in the chain of survival for critically ill and injured patients. Other links include first responders, EMTs, paramedics, dispatchers, nurses, physicians, and specialists at area hospitals. Each of these links must be strong in order for the patient to have the best chance of survival.

One of the Education Department’s primary goals as it relates to the chain of survival is to provide continuing education (CE) and training to our regional EMS providers and assist them with obtaining their service’s specific educational and training needs. Education is focused on acute and critical care for pre-hospital crews of all levels. We offer classes such as 12-Lead ECG, Rapid Sequence Intubation (R.S.I.), Intraosseous IV Access (EZ-IO), Chest Decompression, IV access, and many others. In addition, we offer ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support), PALS (Pediatric Advanced Life Support), and American Heart Association CPR onsite skills verification for our regional EMS providers.

Our courses are approved for Continuing Education Hours through the Texas Department of State Health Services (TDSHS) are accepted by the National Registry of Emergency Medical Technicians (NREMT).
