May 21, 2020
Saluting Danny Oakes
Happy EMS Week to all our wonderful EMS Partners. Working with the best!
Today we are saluting Danny Oakes, BSN, RN, CFRN, LP, FP-C and HALO-Flight Nurse.
Danny started his career in 2001 as a Paramedic in Rockport with Aransas County EMS. During his paramedic clinical rotations, he had several interactions with the HALO-Flight Team on scene flights. He explained that he was motivated by these experiences to one day become a flight paramedic.
While awaiting a flight medic opportunity, Danny continued his education and earned his Associates in EMS at Del Mar College. In 2088, Danny’s dream of being a member of an air medical service became a reality when he accepted a position with HALO-Flight.
In 2016, he graduated with a Bachelor of Science in Nursing from Texas A&M University Corpus Christi. In 2017, he began the Family Nurse Practitioner Program at TAMUCC.
Danny reflected fondly on his tenure with HALO-Flight saying, “I have been blessed to work for such an incredible group of individuals that have supported me through my personal and professional life. I look forward to spending many more years with my HALO-Flight family.”
Thanks Danny for all you do to improve care for our patients and South Texans. WE SALUTE YOU!
