Salute to Keely Maxey
Happy EMS Week to all our wonderful EMS Partners. Working with the best!
Today we salute Keely Maxey, RN, CEN, CFRN, NREMT, and HALO-Flight Nurse.
A graduate of the Del Mar College nursing program in 2006, Keely started her nursing career at CHRISTUS Spohn Hospital Shoreline in the emergency department. She also worked in the Memorial ER Level II Trauma Center, and continues to work at Shoreline.
Keely also graduated from the HALO-Flight EMS Training Academy's EMT Program in 2016, the year she joined the HALO-Flight Team. Additionally she earned her CEN in 2018 and her CFRN in 2019. https://haloflight.org/programs/ems-training-academy/
When asked about fond memories of her time in the EMS community she reflected on friendships made with the people with who she works, and incredible views of coastal South Texas, adding, " but our Mission, to be there when we are needed most," Keely reflects, "has always been within me even before I started with HALO-Flight."
She added, "it is the same reason why I chose the emergency nursing path to begin with. Anytime I've helped take the pain away, stabilized a patient, and maybe started making their terrible day a little better are what accumulates as my fondest memories."
Thanks Keely for all you do to improve care for our patients and South Texans. WE SALUTE YOU!
