Thank you for your commitment to the 16th Annual Luther Young Una Caja Dove Shoot, presented by Riviera Telephone Company!  This day long event is an opportunity to showcase skill, while also benefiting South Texas’ only nonprofit air ambulance service – HALO-Flight.

In preparation for the event, check out the details below.

Pre-Event

We’ll need some of your details to speed up the registration process. Here’s a list of the information needed:

Please note that you need not have all of your hunters identified to start this process. If you have slots to be filled, simply leave the fields blank. Required forms can be submitted through this link as well.

Please note that hunters need to know the name of the team they are shooting on, fully complete the fields and attach the required forms in order to register.

THE COMPETITION

PARTICIPATION

  • Five Hunters (age 16+) per Team
  • Each Hunter must present a valid Texas Hunting License and Driver’s License.
    • Any /all unsafe acts or violation of any state or federal game laws will constitute grounds for disqualification of the entire team.
  • Each Hunter must submit the required forms:
    • Lonesome Dove Waiver
    • Texas Parks & Wildlife Resource Form
  • All Hunters must shoot with a .410 gauge shotgun.
  • Each Hunter is given 25 3-inch HV shells and a white cap, which must be worn.
  • Misfires are the responsibility of the Hunter.
  • Safety glasses are required while shooting. Not provide
  • No dogs, decoys, outside shells, or personal ATVs are allowed.
  • No alcohol shall be consumed prior to the conclusion of shooting or hunting.

SPORTING CLAY & DOVE HUNT

This annual fundraising event features a Sporting Clay competition followed by a Dove Hunt on the private and pastoral Lonesome Dove Ranch – courtesy of our hostess Laura Berry.

Prior to the day of the event, we urge you to review the rules of competition.

 

Please note that all bird cleaning and packaging is provided by Texas A&M University Kingsville Wildlife Society students. Optional: Support the Wildlife Society and donate your dove. If donating, they require a signed Texas Parks & Wildlife Resource Form.
