South Texas' Nonprofit Air Ambulance
HALO-Flight, South Texas’ nonprofit emergency air ambulance service, is excited to announce the annual HALO-Flight Casino Night, occurring Saturday, February 28, 2026, at the Richard Borchard Fairgrounds in Robstown, Texas.
The event is presented by Steel Dynamics - Southwest - Sinton Division, returning as the High Roller sponsor for the fourth year. Since 2022, this vital partnership, along with HALO-Flight’s sponsors and donors, has helped raise $280,000 to ensure South Texas maintains emergency air medical transportation when it is needed most.
As the organization celebrates 38 years of service, this year’s event highlights what community support can achieve. Because of generous donors, HALO-Flight has moved from a vision to a reality that includes a state-of-the-art five-aircraft fleet and a U.S.-first HUMS safety program. The organization is now building for the next generation with its new administrative and COMMS center, which will provide the necessary space for aircraft maintenance and mission coordination.
The result of this partnership is a safer South Texas. With more than 27,000 missions completed across its 24,000-square-mile service area, HALO-Flight has spent nearly four decades as the region's guardian in the sky. Every dollar raised at Casino Night ensures the nonprofit can continue providing this clinically superior care to its 23-county neighbors, maintaining its promise that life-saving transport is available to everyone, regardless of their financial circumstances.
“The funds raised through this event are essential to our ability to continue serving our South Texas community at the highest level,” said CEO Travis Patterson. “This support allows us to purchase advanced medical equipment and technology that helps us improve our overall care and the flight patient experience. After seven years of planning, seeing our new headquarters come to fruition alongside our modernized fleet is huge for HALO-Flight. These advancements ensure our crews have the best tools available to save lives every time they are called.”
The HALO-Flight Casino Night will feature an evening of entertainment, including a variety of gaming tables, music, raffle prizes, and more. Doors open at 6:00 PM, followed by dinner and a presentation at 7:00 PM.
