High-Tech Critical Care On the Go

Our helicopters serve as mobile ICUs, bringing advanced medical care right to the skies. That is in part due to HALO-Flight’s impressive onboard technology. We continually upgrade our equipment and treatments to ensure patients receive the critical care they need from the moment we arrive.

Onboard Communication Equipment

Keeping our ground communication specialists and pilots in constant coordination is vital to our operations. This ensures both safety and efficiency during air travel. Weather updates, air traffic issues and potential delays are all managed in real-time through our advanced radio communication systems—so every flight stays on track.

Communications Systems

HALO-Flight helicopters are equipped with multiple radios and other communications systems to stay in touch with police, fire, EMS and hospitals.

Additional Communications

VHF, 800MHz trunking and global satellite phones are available to the crew for optimal communication—especially important in rural areas.

Onboard Medical Equipment

Medical equipment and treatments are essential to maintaining our high level of care in the air. With high-potency medications that aid in everything from regulating blood pressure to providing pain relief, our patients receive top-tier treatment. Our advanced medical tools help bring the same quality of care you’d expect in a hospital during every transport.

Medication Delivery System

The Sapphire IV Pumps allow medical crews to give precise dosages of medication drips during movement and transport. This ensures that the treatments started prior to our arrival are continued throughout the entire bedside-to-bedside transport.

Ventilator

The Univent ventilator is a fully functional system that adjusts tidal volumes, pressures, rate and oxygen levels to meet the needs of medical and trauma patients. It also includes CPAP and BIPAP functions for additional respiratory support as needed.

Cardiac Monitor

The Zoll Cardiac Monitor tracks blood pressure, heart rate, oxygen saturation and carbon dioxide readings in real-time. It also offers electrical pacing, defibrillation, core temperature readings, arterial blood pressure monitoring and the ability to transmit 12-lead EKGs to cardiac facilities from the scene.

Quin Flow Warrior Lite Blood Warmer

While blood is stored in a cold environment, it must be warmed before administration to a patient. Our Warrior Lite Blood Warmer heats blood from 2 degrees Celsius (35F) to 38C (100.4F) in mere seconds. This maintains the patient’s body temperature, which is important to healing and stabilization.

Safety Equipment

HALO-Flight's fleet includes a Bell 407GXi helicopter with Instrument Flight Rules (IFR) capabilities. The advanced navigation system enhances situational awareness, reduces pilot workload and ensures safe, reliable patient transport in various weather conditions, including low visibility.
