June 14 marks World Blood Day!
In 2019, HALO-Flight introduced the Blood on Board Program in response to the need for blood transfusions during trauma / medical flights. Recognizing the urgent need to have blood readily available on each aircraft, we took the initiative to equip our medical flight crews with the necessary resources to perform this life-saving procedure.
Since its inception, this program has made a significant impact on the lives of 150 patients, providing them with the vital blood transfusions they required during critical moments.
At HALO Flight air ambulance, we are dedicated to ensuring that fellow South Texans receive the lifesaving blood they need, when they need it most. To commemorate this milestone, HALO will partner with the Coastal Bend Blood Center to host a blood drive, on Thursday, June 20 at 10:30AM - 12:30PM. We invite the community to participate in donating blood. Your donation can make a significant difference in someone's life.
