BEEVILLE, Texas – October 8, 2025 – HALO-Flight, the South Texas region's only non-profit air ambulance service, marked its 38th anniversary today with a ribbon-cutting ceremony at its Beeville Base, celebrating a significant advancement in aviation excellence.

The event focused on the unveiling of their newest 407GXi helicopter and its installation of the Health and Usage Management System (HUMS) –the first air ambulance to install this program in the U.S. This is a vital safety improvement that allows the dedicated maintenance team to utilize predictive data and uphold the industry's highest standards. This investment ensures that the community has access to the safest and most responsive air medical transport—when every minute counts.

The success of the mission is built on strong relationships. HALO-Flight’s legacy is defined by its deep partnerships with local first responders, hospitals, physicians, and medical personnel across 23 counties in South Texas. The organization's entire operation—from the highly qualified flight crew delivering Care Above All to the expert comms specialists managing logistics—is focused on supporting these partners and delivering for the patient. Outreach education is also a key component, allowing the team to share its expertise with partnering agencies on the ground.

From humble beginnings to a vital lifeline, HALO-Flight’s growth is a testament to its mission. What began in 1987 as a single rented helicopter and a small group of medical volunteers is now a service utilized multiple times a day. Today, the organization operates five state-of-the-art helicopters from three 24/7 bases, supported by a team of 50 full-time employees and overseen by a Board of Directors.

As they look ahead, HALO-Flight prepares for their upcoming campaign, "Building to New Heights." The future facility is more than just a new building—it represents the next chapter for HALO-Flight and the long-term security of the community. This investment

ensures that their critical services are always ready to respond, guaranteeing that this regional lifeline remains safe and available to everyone for decades.

"This 38th anniversary is not just a look back at our history, but a leap forward into our future," said Travis Patterson, CEO of HALO-Flight. "The introduction of this HUMS-equipped aircraft secures our operational readiness. None of what we do is possible without the support of our community and healthcare partners whose generous contributions and partnerships fuel our lifesaving mission."
