Special Care for Special Populations Education Course

Posted on: August 5, 2013

Special Care for Special Populations was one of the quarterly courses we offered this year. It was held July 27, 2013 at Del Mar College-West Campus. Our turn out was usual for this time of year, with 46 healthcare professionals being in attendance. This course addressed Neonation ventilation, Abuse and Neglect, Mental Illness, and Bariatric Patients. Eight hours of continuing education credits were awarded to those who attended. Our audience was comprised of nurses, EMS personnel, Respiratory Therapists, and healthcare students. Our presenters included Dan Saltarelli BSN, CFRN, CEN, LP, Randy Endsley RN, CFRN, CEN, LP, Angelica Requenez RN, CCRN, CEN, CCEMTP, LP, and Ryan Kelley LP, CCEMTP, FPC. We presented a 6 year service award to one of our education volunteers (Cristian Requenez), who will be leaving us to attend Texas Tech University in the Fall. We thank Cris for his years of service and wish him well in his endeavors to become an MD.

Our next quarterly course will be Trauma Unleashed, which will be held at Del Mar College-West Campus on Saturday, October 5th. This is our most popular course offering and as a result, we present this course annually. Though the title of the course is the same every year, the case studies are always different. We "Unleash" the highest profile flights and present them in a case study format. This is a course you DO NOT want to miss!!!
