In conjunction with the 2013 HALO-Flight State Championship Cook-Off, we will be hosting a Healthy Kids Cook-Off for children between the ages of 6 and 13 years old. The event is open to the public.

Objective:
Provide opportunities for youth to exhibit their food and nutrition knowledge, skill and creativity when preparing and presenting food.
Rules & Regulations:
Participation- There will be 3 age categories (6-8 year olds, 9- 11 year olds, 12-13 year olds) with a maximum of 20 children per category.
Food Entries- All food entries must promote healthy living and good nutrition. All entries must be prepared at home and submitted during turn-in times on March 1, 2013. Food entries must be prepared from SCRATCH. NO refrigerated ingredients. NO food products will be returned to the exhibitor due to health and safety concerns. Exhibitors must provide recipes for each food entry (Please type). DO NOT put Name on recipe pages. Top 3 winners in each category.
Entry Fee- There will be an entry fee of $15 per participant. $5 for each additional sibling. Entries must be submitted by February 28, 2013.
Turn-In Times- Entries can be turned in between 5 p.m. – 6:30 p.m. on Friday, March 1, 2013.
Preparation, Cooking & Presentation- The child must do the preparation, cooking and presentation. Parents may help with fires and slicing of anything considered dangerous.
Judging- Judging will take place on Saturday, March 2, 2013. A panel of judges will pick the top 3 winners in each category. Entries will be judged on:
- Creativity
- Presentation
- Taste
- Nutritional Value
Awards- Awards presentation will be held on Saturday, March 2, 2013 4:00 p.m.
