About the DAISY Award:
The DAISY Award is a nationwide program that rewards and  celebrates the extraordinary clinical skill and compassionate care given by nurses every day. It was established by the DAISY Foundation – an organization for the elimination of diseases attacking the immune system – in memory of J. Patrick Barnes. Barnes’ parents established the foundation in their son’s memory because they had experienced firsthand the skills and compassionate care of many nurses. The award is given quarterly to outstanding nurses across the country. To find out more about the program, including the growing list of Hospital Partners, please go to www.DAISYfoundation.org.
